BERCHTOLD with new, high-tech OPERON® D 820 surgical table

[15. June 2010 - 16:15]

Flexible for all Surgical Suites - Largest Imaging Window on the Market

Tuttlingen, June 15, 2010. It is fully adjustable, of first-class quality, and can support heavy loads: With the new OPERON® D 820 surgical table, surgeons can operate while sitting or standing because table height can be adjusted up to 440 millimetres. The tabletop comprises four modules, enabling surgical personnel to position their patient flexibly. To enable optimum fluoroscopy, the tabletop can be moved longitudinally. The table can fully support even extremely obese patients. It has a load capacity of 450 kilograms.

The base version of the table includes the head, back, and seat sections. The leg section is available either as a standard or short one piece, or as a split leg section pair, ideal for endoscopic interventions in the abdominal region. All of these modules may be combined with one another to provide a surgical table that meets individual requirements. The OPERON® D 820 is suited to all surgical disciplines as well as outpatient facilities. With its extremely low minimum height of 635 millimetres and a Trendelenburg position of up to 30 degrees, even obese patients are easy to position, and surgery is comfortable while seated. For surgical procedures while standing, the OR team can raise the tabletop to a maximum 1,075 millimetres. The seamlessly adjustable kidney elevator can be raised up to 75 millimetres. The extremely stable design in all standard positions and the table's four hydraulic cylindrical legs can hold a patient of up to 450 kg securely in the correct position. The tabletop is 535 millimetres wide. Special pad protects the patient against bedsores. BERCHTOLD achieves this optimum decubitus prophylaxis using a pad made of high-quality viscoelastic and thermoactive foam adapted optimally to the body.

The table is equipped with a full-length X-ray cassette tunnel, even in the area above the column. It is located under the tabletop. No additional X-ray plates are required, ensuring optimum imaging results for conventional radiography. The 464 millimetre-long imaging window is the largest on the market. For optimum access with the C-arm, a mobile X-ray system, the tabletop can slide 423 millimetres forward and backward. The OPERON® is adjusted using the hand pendant. All features on this user-friendly remote control are assigned to clearly-arranged buttons. Comfort functions are pre-programmed for all important patient positions. As a result, table control is fast and easy. Low-friction rollers with the electro-hydraulic "InstaDriveTM" ensure easy patient transport. It guarantees ease of movement and manoeuvring of the table. Slow braking ensures high patient safety. The surgical table includes a serial link interface that can be used for fast and precise status analysis, troubleshooting, or individual adaptation of parameters, such as adjustment speed, for example. In the case of power failure, OR personnel can operate the table manually using a foot pump and hand pendant directly at the table column.

Accessories available for the BERCHTOLD OPERON® family of surgical tables, such as the extension unit for emergency surgery, are fully compatible thanks to the standard rails and can be completely integrated. The table is suitable for all surgical disciplines.
