Bodo Ebens will further develop company's strategic direction

Tuttlingen, May 19, 2010. BERCHTOLD, the medical device manufacturer in Tuttlingen, is adding to its management team. Bodo Ebens, 51, was named Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) in early May, responsible for worldwide integration of new technologies. "We do not want to simply develop and sell devices, we want to be system partners for hospitals," explained Ebens. In addition, the degreed biomedical engineer is taking over the worldwide consulting and management business of the BERCHTOLD Group as the CEO of BERCHTOLD Consulting GmbH in Schaffhausen. Ebens sees providing colleagues in Charleston/USA with support as his primary task in this area. "With its recent healthcare reform, there will be fundamental changes in healthcare in the USA."
    
Prior to joining BERCHTOLD, Ebens was head of the Process Management and Structure Planning Division at Vanguard AG in Berlin. His tasks included the development and marketing of innovative clinical business models. From 2006 he was also the head of MITC GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vanguard AG. Prior to that, Ebens spent many years in lead functions in hospitals and was active in the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries.
